Alexandria Wellness Center is a Community Mental Health Center providing a variety of outpatient services to meet the needs of clients. Our staff consists of Psychiatrists, Nurses, Licensed Social Workers, & Mental Health Technicians.

Our Goal

  • To prevent hospitalization
  • To assist in the transition from inpatient hospitalization to home

What Is The Program Like?

The program combines psychotherapy & medication management. Licensed professionals, under the direct supervision of a Psychiatrist, provide interventions tailored to each client's needs. Group, individual & family therapy are some of the modalities utilized to address issues such as stress, anger, anxiety, depression, distorted thinking & other symptoms disrupting a person's life.

What Is The Wellness at Work Program?

An evening program that provides psychotherapy to clients experiencing a mood, thought, or behavioral disorder. The goal is to assist clients in improving performance and function in their home and/or work life.

The Wellness at Work Program consists of two psychotherapy group sessions per evening twice a week and focuses on:

  • Educating on etiology, symptomology, and disease process
  • Exploring/processing emotions, behaviors, and thoughts
  • Creating affective methods of coping with the disorder
  • Developing work and home life strategies to improve quality of life and meet goals related to functioning, relationships, and careers

Who Qualifies?

  • Individuals who have had a less intensive form of treatment including medication and/or counseling
  • Individuals transitioning from inpatient hospitalization to home
  • Individuals who can benefit from and participate in our program (this excludes disoriented clients)
