The Behavioral Medicine Unit is a 10 bed psychiatric inpatient facility located in Church Point within Acadia-St. Landry Hospital. We specialize in caring for adult and geriatric patients. Our program combines psychotherapy and medication management with the goal of assisting patients in achieving their highest degree of function and independence.
Our staff consists of Psychiatrists, Medical Consultants, Nurses, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Mental Health Technicians.
Services Provided
24 hour care directed by a psychiatrist.
Individual, group, and family therapy.
Consulting physician to identify and address physical illnesses.
Confidential pre-admission screenings.
Local transportation.
Criteria for Admission
21 years of age or older.
Pose an actual or imminent danger to self or others.
Requires continuous skilled observation and evaluation.
Inability to function in activities of daily living.
